Python Examples

Identifying the UPG-812

This example demonstrates how to establish communication with the UPG-812 and retrieve its identification data. The returned values (model number, hardware ID, firmware details, and serial number) are used to verify that the Host PC can successfully detect and communicate with the device.

This example demonstrates basic configuration and control of the GPIO interface, including both individual pin operations and multi-pin port control. It also includes setup of the device VDDIO configuration required for GPIO operation, and shows how to validate input and output behavior through simple read-back.

GPIO Example

This example demonstrates configuration and basic communication over the I2C interface. It shows how to initialise the interface, select operating parameters such as bus speed, and verify communication with an external I2C device. The example also covers typical I2C transaction patterns, including register-based read and write operations as well as direct transmit and receive transfers.

I2C Example

SPI Example

This example demonstrates configuration and basic communication over the SPI interface. It shows how to initialise the SPI peripheral, configure bus parameters such as clock speed, bit order, and clock polarity/phase, and use a GPIO-controlled chip select for transaction management.

UART Example

This example demonstrates configuration and basic communication over the UART interface. It shows how to initialise the UART peripheral, configure common serial parameters such as baud rate, parity, and stop bits, and perform data transfers.

This example demonstrates configuration and generation of PWM signals. It shows how to initialise PWM outputs and configure them using different abstraction levels, including raw register-based settings, frequency-based configuration, and time-based period and pulse-width definitions.

PSU Example

This example demonstrates configuration and monitoring of the power supply unit (PSU). It shows how to set output voltage and current limit parameters, enable the supply output, and retrieve basic operating status information. The example also illustrates how PSU measurements such as voltage, current, limiting condition, and temperature can be accessed.
